MrBeast's Ghana Village Project
Abna Dakwa Village was built on previously undeveloped land after about a year of planning and eight months of construction, according to reports about the project.
The development is intended to address several challenges facing families in communities connected to the cocoa industry, with a focus on education, clean water, healthcare, food and economic opportunities.
At the centre of the project is a new school designed to serve more than 300 children. The community also includes 10 homes for teachers, a medical clinic, a marketplace and improved sanitation facilities.
Free School Meals for Five Years
One of the major components of the project is a school-meal programme. Students are expected to receive free meals on every school day for five years, with support from The Rockefeller Foundation.
The Rockefeller Foundation and Beast Philanthropy announced their partnership on September 17, 2026, confirming support for community-led school meal programmes in Ghana's Eastern Region and Kenya's Bomet County. The initiative is intended to improve nutrition, school attendance and learning while helping keep children away from child labour.
Clean Water and Solar Power
Abna Dakwa Village also features infrastructure designed to improve access to basic services. Water towers and solar-powered water systems have been installed to provide clean water to the community.
Solar infrastructure has also been incorporated into the development to provide electricity, while agricultural facilities are intended to support food production and create additional opportunities for the community.
School, Healthcare and Recreation
Beyond education and basic utilities, the village includes facilities designed to support everyday community life. Residents have access to a medical clinic, marketplace and recreational areas, including a football field and children's playground.
The project also includes facilities such as fish tanks and a chicken coop, forming part of the wider effort to support local food production and economic activity.
MrBeast's Child Labour Initiative in Ghana
The Abna Dakwa project forms part of Beast Philanthropy's broader efforts to address child labour in the cocoa industry. The project is intended to provide children and families with alternatives that make education and access to essential services more achievable.
The Rockefeller Foundation has confirmed that its partnership with Beast Philanthropy will support nutritious and sustainable school meals in Ghana's Eastern Region, linking food security with education and efforts to reduce child labour.
MrBeast's Ghana Project Draws Global Attention
The unveiling of Abna Dakwa Village has attracted international attention because of the scale of the development and its focus on education, healthcare, clean water, food and community infrastructure.
For Ghanaian communities affected by challenges surrounding cocoa farming and child labour, the project brings together several services within one development, with education and school meals forming key parts of the initiative.
